Late intrusive pit. possibly probably after occupation, and abandonment of building 1.
Cut for pit seen almost at surface of mound.
The cut of the pit respects the Wall F3, but cuts platform F13 and may have exposed some of the human burials
The current interpretation of this feature is that the pit was dug after the abandonment of building 1. It respects wall F3 because the excavators of pit 17 intended to remove mouldings(?) or something else from the wall face. The mouldings has been modified and bone points were found attached to the wall possibly placed there when pit 17 was dug. |
