Discussion: Removal of collapsed debris in the central position of space 86 and southwards from there. This unit is bonnded by the screen wall on its west and by the collapsed roof edge on its north. Towards the East it ends at the platform (F. 170) and in the South it runs to Platform (F. 169). These are deposits in which were : fire installation (F. 159). Bukranion (unit 3524) , 2 skulls (unit 3529). These collapsed deposits comprise roof tumble in large quantities. In the vicinity of the screen wall there are brick fragments and stripy-rooflike materials which were heavily burned. Some of them in oxidizing and some in reducing atmosphere. In this area there are also remains of large bones: horn, large vertebrae fragment. As we went South from this area there was more ash & charcoal as well as smaller bones mixed in the deposits. It looks as though there is mixing of roof and midden remains. At this point we closed the unit and will open another one. |

NR 2003: Sample 1 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded as diagnostics and flot frags. It is a small-medium sample consisting mostly of tiny fragments but with a few larger pieces. It is a mixed lot, mostly sheep-size. There is some burning, and surfaces are quite fresh. This looks like relatively primary remains of daily meals, heavily processed. Could be sweepings. One piece each of fish and microfauna.
