Interpretive Categories: floors/packing,infilling

Data Category Information: Location: building; Deposition: heterogeneous

Dimensions: 60cm, 11cm, 9cm

Description: small block of level 7 floor material + packing from 160. Very dry - taken off all in one block 60cm long. 6cm of upper floor, 3cm of packing, 2cm of lower floor

Discussion: This was initially thought to be a remnant of floor material from sp.163, but during excavation it appeared that these floors layers abutted fill rather than a wall. Therefore they were unlikely to have been floor layers of sp.163 as these shoul have been bonded by the west wall of building 6 (or the equivalent phase). Therefore it seemed plausible that they were floor layers of sp.160, + that the southern return of wall 403 went across further east, making sp.160 larger than it currently appears. 4350 would then have been bounded by the east wall of sp.160
Alternatively it could be the same material as infill 4340
