Dimensions: 1.9m e-w, 1.8m n-s, 0.5cm 1-3cm thick 
 
Discussion: A layer of complex interfacing lenses of organic material-straw like phytoliths, coprolite material, charcoal and flecks of plaster and brick.
As this is spread over the southern area of Space 173, over a hearth, platform and crawl hole it seems to pre-?? the last use of this room prior to its filling in by 4321 (etc). Dry Sieve Information: Unknown if any dry seive 
 
Recognition: Recognised as layers 4440 and 4441 peeled off very easily onto this organic layer 
Definition: In space 173 with east-west face of wall 484, west-east face of wall 479, south-southern section, north-truncated (by cleaning?) 
Execution: Trowel 
Condition: Moist 
Consistency: Crumbly 
Colour: Mid brown with white cream frequent mottling and one dark brown and browny orange mottling 
Texture: Sandy silt 
Bedding: Multi lensed and micro layers of 'deposits' 
Inclusions: Some kinds of phytoliths, charcoal, coprolite type material. Flecks of plaster and mud brick very frequent. 
Post-depositional Features: N/A 
Basal Boundary: Came off a range of easily identified units, including hearth, platform edge, platform make-up and burnt deposits.
