| Discussion: (4502) was a thin E-W band of material, immediately south of wall F.482. It looked like a floor layer, but it's not clear why it didn't extend further south, and why it's southern limit keeps a relatively regular line, when there's no obvious evidence for wear or truncation. However there were v.small traces of orangey material to the south of (4502), so presumably it did originally extend southward. (4503) below, is a slightly ashey deposit , which follows the same line as (4502), so perhaps an explanatory pattern will emerge. |
