This unit is the floor remains that where remained last year in south east corner of northern part of space 158. This unit is within the northern part of space 158. It's under feature 629. Excavaion of unit revealed more brick against south wall (feature 623) and the rest of the south wall. This helped understanding the building sequence of south wall. Proposed sequence is: 1. Red clay brick and possible featre 623 (with curved feature); 2. Patching between feature 156 and curved feature and on top of red clay brick; 3. Construction of pillar (fetaure 156). Also feature 646 oven may have been constructed at the same time as feature 623 and curved feature. A clayball is also visible in east side of this space placed against or within the red brick against the wall. |
