Unit 1235

Category: layer    dug in 1996

Area: North

Interpretive Categories: room fill

Data Category Information: Description: very mixed

Dimensions: 1.6 m x 380 mm x 200 mm

Discussion: Room fill / collapse
None of the edges of (1235) were very distinct in excavation. This seems due to later intrusive cut/deposit running along the edge of the south wall which contained most of finds and larger fragments of mud brick, some slightly burnt. Also from here came sherd X1 which is Roman/Hellenistic. Much of the clarity of the wall face is gone suggesting it was disturbed by the intrusive cut /deposit. This intrusion may relate to a feature seen on the surface last year.
The rest of 1235 is probably undisturbed in situ roof -collapse/or room fill.
