Discussion: Area of material overlying clear floor layers and thought to be the remains of infilling of the space after abandonment, though could conceivably have been packing for a floor completely truncated in antiquity. 
 
Recognition: Dark patch of material overlying paler floor layers 
Definition: Clearly different from underlying deposits

Condition: Firm and slightly moist

Colour: Mottled dark grey and brown
