Files Available to Download

To obtain the files either...
  • Click on the File name link and it will appear on the screen. Go to the 'File' menu and select 'Save As..', save to your desired location.
    or
  • Right click on over the File name, select 'Save Link/Target As...' and Save to your desired location
There are three types of file available for you to download.

  • Listings:
    this is a plain text file containing each field and its data. You can open and format this file in Notepad or any standard Word Processor, or print it directly.


  • Delimited:
    Two different delimited files are offered, a standard tab delimiter and a | (pipe) delimited text file, both can be import into Excel or any standard relational database. Please note that the data comes straight from our database, sometimes slight problems can appear in certain fields such as invalid characters, issues such as this can effect importing the datasets into other programs,

Basic Instructions for importing into MS Access

  • On the File Menu, within MS Access, select 'Get External Data' and then 'Import'
  • In the Browse box that appears find the location where you have stored the downloaded file. In the 'Files of Type' pull down list (near the bottom, left hand corner of the browse box) select 'Text Files'. Highlight the desired file and click the 'Import' button.
  • The 'Import Text Wizard' will then appear.
  • Choose the format 'Delimited' and press the 'Next' button
  • Either choose the delimiter as 'Tab' or for the Pipe delimited file choose 'Other' and type a | (pipe) symbol into the space provided.
  • Check the box indicating that the first row contains the field names
  • Press the 'Next' Button
  • Select to store the data into a new table and the press the Next button.
  • Set up the data types. Most can be left as the default but always ensure any 'Description' or 'doc' fields are memo, otherwise you will encounter field truncation errors. Press the 'Next' button.
  • Choose a primary key setting (if you are unsure let Access add the key). Press the 'Next' button.
  • Name your new table and press finish. The data will now be imported.
Basic Instructions for opening into MS Excel

  • On the File Menu, within MS Excel, select 'Open'
  • In the Browse box that appears find the location where you have stored the downloaded file. In the 'Files of Type' pull down list (near the bottom, left hand corner of the browse box) select 'Text Files'. Highlight the desired file and click the 'Open' button.
  • The 'Text Import Wizard' will then appear.
  • Choose the format 'Delimited' and press the 'Next' button
  • Either choose the delimiter as 'Tab' or for the Pipe delimited file choose 'Other' and type a | (pipe) symbol into the space provided.
  • Press the 'Next' Button
  • Leave all columns as the default type General and press the 'Finish' button The data will now be imported.
