Discussion: Excavation of room-fill in 1x1m square. After removal of 1102 in first square we now take first deposits from next square to SE. After excavating loose fill of animal hole (1103) contain animal skull, we remove layer of mixed room fill (1104), same as 1102, tracing w wall face of wall 3 as we do so. This face is partly burnt and, as with walls 1 and 2, the plaster is in a poor state - v. flaky and broken and patchy. FIND: 1104:1 sherd 4/9/95 In view of adjoining squares (ref. 1115) more of 1104 removed Dry Sieve Information: Probably some dry sieve but amount unknown

Unit description: Very small assemblage (i.e. 8 bones); a very little manganese staining; one piece burnt, but rest not, hence appears mixed, or very localized burning within unit. Surfaces lightly weathered; rather matte appearance. Largest piece of bone has lots of fresh Sample 3 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded fully. Medium-size sample with more sheep-size than large mammal, 1 equid carpal. Mostly scrap, fairly evenly divided among long bones, ribs, vertebrae, and skull, with a pile of deteriorated horn core fragments. A little burning, both high and low temperature. Little or no gnawing and digestion. Quite fragmented, nothing goes together. Last number = 67
