GROUNDSTONES

The excavation seasons Çatalhöyük in 1996 and 1997 produced large amounts of groundstone artefacts. Especially the artefacts from building 1 in the North Area proved interesting and were examined in detail. The spatial clustering of entire artefacts was examined through the phases of this building. The analysis revealed close patterning and association with plant remains.
